Spoil Boy Gorilla

This is the Gorilla from my short film “Spoil Boy”. In the story he is thrown from a truck going to the zoo. His crate lands and breaks open right in front of a our frustrated main character. Spoil Boy sees this as an opportunity to finally impress his friends. He lassos the cute fuzzy primate and drags him back to his house. There he keeps him in a crate only big enough to house the animals body taking the creature out just to “train” him. Seeing no light and only eating he eventually becomes what you see here. Spoil Boy impresses everyone around and procures many a friend. But it comes… at a cost…. The close up render was made using only Maya (Mental Ray) and After Effects. No photoshop. Textures were created in Zbrush.

Spoil Boy

This is a render I created for a short film I am making titled “Spoil Boy”. As you can see he is quite spoiled. At this point in the story he had just tried to gain friends by demonstrating his new rocket. As he set it in flight from his window high above the playground below a malfunction occurred and it crashed causing chaos. The children threw the rocket back knocking the boy back down his toys. With disgust he sulks on his toy box with his ruined toy. As the narration reads for this scene: “He didn’t care if they’d sway. He didn’t need them anyway. At least that’s what his mommy had said…” And the door bursts open with mommy handing Spoil Boy a brand new shiny rocket. Check out all the sweet 80s toys. There is lots of detail. This was made using Maya and After effects. All the toys are in 3d gathered from various free model sites. Below are wireframes as well as a very prelim and rough house. Enjoy!!!

A Stormtrooper Portrait

When I created “Stormtrooper Invited Home Early” I made a portrait. Here it is in full rendered form with a few tweaks. I thought the concept of a portrait was funny but wanted to create a little more of a story as well. Maybe this was a wallet photo found on the battlefield. There are lots of details This was created in Maya and Composited in AE. I used Photoshop for final adjustments. Enjoy!
